A big event is scheduled for this weekend.
No, not the election. That is old news.
I am talking about the book signing. Mysteriously reclusive author James R. Coggins is making a rare public appearance from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 17 at the House of James bookstore, 2743 Emerson Road in Abbotsford, B.C.
The renowned author will be autographing copies of his two new novels.
Springtime in Winnipeg is the fourth in his series of John Smyth murder mysteries. It is set in July.
The other novel, 1995: Je me souviens, is something quite different—a political novel about the 1995 referendum on whether Quebec should separate from Canada. So, maybe this event does have something to do with the election.
Well, okay, so I’m not that reclusive or mysterious or renowned. I’ll still be there, I will be signing books, and I am looking forward to meeting some people I might not have seen for some time. And hopefully we will sell some books.
